5 natural remedies to get rid of dark circles

31 May

image

Hi beauties! If you are sick and tired of stubborn dark circles under your eyes then this post is exactly for you. Actually a friend asked me to share some tips regarding dark circles so I thought I should post them on my blog to facilitate lots of ladies who spend a huge amount of money on expensive eye products and treatments. Most of these products either do not cause any change or bring about only temporary improvement. In fact, a few weeks back I reviewed a miraculous yet cheap eye cream by Eva B-white which works wonderfully for me. I am not sure if it is available outside of the Middle East so I thought I should share some natural and 100% safe remedies with you all.

Below are the top 5 most effective remedies I have come across.

1) Tomatoes

Tomatoes are blessed with ingredients that help you get rid of tan and dark circles quite effectively. Just take a slice of tomato and rub it around your eyes. You can also use a cotton ball to apply tomato juice. Leave it on for 10mins and wash off with plain water. Apply twice daily for faster results.

2) Potatoes

Just like tomatoes, a slice of potato also helps in reducing dark circles around eyes. For better results, extract juice of a raw potato and mix with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this mixture with a cotton ball all around your eyes and rinse off.

3) Cold Raw Milk

Raw milk has enzymes that whiten the skin naturally. Hence, dip a cotton ball in cold raw milk and apply around your eyes. You can also make a paste of raw milk and a few drops of honey. This will also condition your under eye skin.

4) Cold Tea Bags

This one works like magic. Put your used tea bags in fridge for around 20 mins and place them on your eyes. Let them rest for 10mins. You’ll surely feel a calm, soothing effect.

5) Cucumber

This is my favorite remedy. Crush a piece of cucumber and add a few drops of lemon juice and honey. Mix well. Apply around your eyes and wipe off after 15 mins. You can also store this mixture in fridge for a week. It does wonders to the delicate under eye skin.

These are a few easy tips which can bring about great change if applied regularly (at least twice a day). Also, focus on your diet and drink plenty of water. If you know of any other remedy then please share with me via comments.

Hi lovelies! How are you all doing? And, how’s your weekend so far? Well, my weekend is almost over and I’d say I had a super busy one. I hosted a dinner party at my place and most of the time was spent in cooking and cleaning. However, I did manage to dress up and look pretty πŸ˜€

I am not sure if you are more interested in the cooking part or the dressing up one but I’ll focus on the latter in this post. I wore a traditional Pakistani kurta with colourful thread work and straight pants. Since bright pink was more dominant in my dress, I played with different shades of pink in my makeup. I also applied a new style of eyeliner and totally loved it. It added a whole lotta oomph to my outfit. This is how I ended up looking.

To Contour or not to Contour + Makeup Look 3

29 May

Hello lovelies! Whether you are a MUA, a beauty blogger or a makeup addict like me you must be aware of what a miracle contouring is and how contouring and photography are married to eachother. Until recently, a wide majority of ladies were totally unaware of what contouring is and how it is done. Thanks to the celebrities like Kim K. and Lilly G. contouring has become such a huge rage.

For all those who are still unaware of this booming trend let me quickly give you an idea. In simple words, contouring is all about creating shadows to highlight your features. So, if you have a wide nose, flabby cheeks or you simply want to look all chiselled then contouring can be your best friend. Various brands have come up with their contouring kits suitable for different skin tones. And, just as I discussed in my previous post on beauty blunders, bronzer is NOT for contouring.

I am not a huge fan of contouring but I do use this trick on special occasions, especially when I know that I’d be photographed. Areas which I contour are my nose, cheeks and jaw line. Below are my pictures before and after slight contouring.

My contouring routine is simple. I have two kits for this purpose. One is by Anastasia Beverly Hills and the other is by Mikyajy cosmetics. I started using Mikyajy kit (reviewed here) after moving to the Middle East and really liked it. It has become a staple now. The picture below is a simple tutorial by Tarte Cosmetics and will show exactly how I contour my face.

And, now comes my final makeup look. This is usually how I like my makeup to be. Just a liner, mascara, blush and lippy. No foundation, eyeshadows and contouring. Quick and super simple!
