Haul: Makeup Brushes & DIY Cleaner

22 May

Hello lovelies! Today is my favorite day of the week as Fridays mark the start of weekend in KSA. So, happy Friday! 🙂

I have done a lot of posts about cosmetics and other products which I use but I never discussed makeup brushes. So, today, I’ll give you a glimpse of these little babies. I call them babies because they are precious to me and require full care to ensure hygiene and longevity. First, lets have a look at them.

My makeup brushes

I have a wide collection of brushes from different brands. My most favourite ones are from Elizabeth Arden. Have a closer look at them and you’ll know why I love them. The brand name in golden engraved over the black brushes is a beautiful sight. And, the super soft bristles are a plus point.

There are so many brushes out there which are ought to confuse a newbie. So, this is what these brushes are used for:

It is extremely important to clean your brushes regularly to wipe off dirt and makeup residues. If you want to know how I clean them then keep on reading.

DIY Makeup Brush Cleaner

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Hot water
2 tbsp White Vinegar

Method:

1) Mix vinegar in hot water.
2) Soak your brush in this mixture for about 20 minutes to remove grease and dirt.
3) Take it out, rinse with plain water, reshape its bristles and lay flat on a tissue paper or absorbent sheet to dry.

Note: Avoid exposing it to sunlight and let it dry indoors.

How do you maintain your brushes? Suggest some ideas, girlies! 🙂

XOXO

I use the same brush cleaner! I’m wondering, do you use the same thing for beauty blenders? I always buy the beauty blender cleaner but it’s too pricey ($15 a pop!)! I’ve realized that if I find a cheaper beauty -blender -cleaner -alternative, I can save my money and buy a lippy instead! 🙂

Nope. The solution is diluted and doesn’t have much smell. You may rinse later on with a shampoo for pleasant smell.
