What’s your Hair-o-scope?

29 Oct

Hey beauties! Hope y’all having a good time. Before you start doubting my spellings, let me make it clear that I haven’t misspelled Horoscope. Rather I am talking about an equally mesmerizing and new ‘It’ thing in town. The Hair-o-scope. The term is so catchy that the moment I saw it on the website of Madison Reed, I knew I had to discover more about it and share it with you all.

If you haven’t heard about this company yet then let me introduce them first. Madison Reed is an expert in manufacturing hair colours suitable for all ages. Their products ensure lasting effects and are super easy to use within the comforts of your own home. The best part is that they have developed an online tool to guide you about suitable hair colour by answering just 8 simple questions! Also, you can always contact them for professional help.

As the name hints, Hair-o-scope predicts about your hair based on the traits of your zodiac sign. Who says constellations can only give an insight of love life and personalities? It’s time to let your stars decide your hairstyle! All you have to do is visit their website and scroll down to your zodiac sign. For all Cancerians like me, here’s what the stars have to say:

My Hair-o-scope

I totally agree with my Hair-o-scope. As mentioned, on a good hair day my locks are usually smooth and shiny. The credit goes to my genes, hair care routine and now my stars! Though I do not play much with my hair colour but this has actually got me thinking about going ombre. What do you think? Should I trust my stars and go for it?

Even if you don’t believe in zodiac signs, just give this one a chance. You may actually start believing in them. So, what does your Hair-o-scope say? Don’t forget to share with me. Happy reading! πŸ™‚

October Obsessions

26 Oct

Hey gals! I am back again with another cool post. Before October ends I know I had to do this one! This month has been great for me so far as I got lots of makeup goodies. What more can a girl (read: makeup junkie) ask for? *wink wink*

Here’s a preview of my October Obsessions:

October Obsessions

This tool kit by Mikyajy was actually a gift and I totally loved it. It has 3-in-1 pencils, matching liner and mascara, sharpener, clear gloss and a large portable mirror. I’ll soon do a separate post on it.

Foundation and Concealer by Rimmel London

Next, I finally got my hands on Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation and Hide the Blemish Concealer stick. They are just awesome!! Don’t worry, I’ll be soon sharing my makeup looks using these goodies.

Lipsticks by Rimmel London

Finally, I bought two amazing lipsticks by Rimmel London from their Kate Moss series. They are deeply pigmented and last really long. Do tell me if you want me to do a detailed post on them with swatches. Else, I’ll cover them in my new makeup looks.

So, what are your obsessions during October?

Magic Oil a.k.a Almond Oil

25 Oct

Hello lovelies! First of all, sorry for not being regular at blogging although I’ve been updating my Facebook page and Instagram religiously. I have a lot to share and review and will soon get back to proper writing. Today, I’ll be talking about an extremely important and beneficial change that I recently made to my daily skin care routine. I replaced my expensive, elaborate list of moisturizers/lotions with just one, easily affordable and 100% safe miraculous product. Well, the title says it all. It’s a pure Bitter Almond Oil. Before I divulge into my verdict, let me just give you a brief introduction of this little bottle of goodness.

We all know that almonds are naturally high in vitamin E and are ideal as hair care and skin care products. Their oil is smooth, non-greasy and has a pleasant fragrance. You can use it as an affordable massage oil, a natural moisturizer, or to keep your scalp and hair healthy and strong.

Almond oil has two variants: Sweet and Bitter. Sweet almond oil is not only used for skin care but also plays a significant culinary role in preparing goodies such as marzipan, cookies, cakes, and other treats. Despite its name, it is also a primary ingredient in condiments such as mayonnaise and a variety of sauces and dressings. It is basically a base oil.

Bitter almond oil, on the other hand, is an essential oil. It has a variety of benefits as well. It is a potent facial cleanser and is also great for hair and nails, if massaged regularly. However, due to the high amount of cyanide in bitter almonds, one must be careful when using this oil. It is never a good idea to apply or ingest too much.

Now comes the main part, i.e. my opinion. Ever since I have started using pure bitter almond oil, I am amazed at how smooth, trouble-free and supple my skin has become. Earlier I used to suffer from dry patches and uneven facial skin tone but this essential oil has totally eradicated all my skin problems. I use it as a moisturizer at night and also to hydrate my lips. I even use it as a hair oil that works well for brows and lashes as well. Additionally, I use it as a makeup remover too. So, you see how this little bottle of magic has replaced most of my pots of chemicals πŸ™‚

I’d strongly recommend you all to give it a try. Don’t forget to share your results with me. Good luck!
