Product Review: CHI Silk Infusion

15 Jan

Pampering your hair is just as crucial as your skin care routine. In this era of cut throat competition, a person is wide-open to distress and tension which can make your hair look dull and unhealthy. All of us wish for silky, shiny and beautiful hair and having gorgeous hair adds up a spark in your personality.

We all despise the idea of rough, dry, damaged hair. Hence, for this, proper hair care routine is a must.

There are various products which work as a nourishment agent to your hair. One exceptional choice for hair repair is CHI Silk Infusion. It claims to make your hair silky and is equally beneficial for men and women.

Features

It comes in a plastic bottle with a cap. Famous for its shiny effect, it works best for straight hair. It readily gives the glossy and soft result. The price of the product is $45 at Amazon. It promises to protect your hair from the harmful effects of heating. It is an alcohol free product with a rating of 4.6 out of 5 at Amazon.

Performance and Quality

CHI Silk Infusion contains wheat and soy proteins which guarantee a pure silky effect to your hair. We love to style our hair daily, some days it’s going to be a straight hairstyle, the other days we prefer the curly look.

All the cheesy hair styling demands heating, which keeps it set all day. CHI silk infusion’s reconstructing complex protects your hair from heat. It became my instant favorite product to pamper my hair and gives a smooth soft look to my hair.

Application

In terms of application, it is pretty straight forward to use. The product is to be applied in washed, untangled hair. Take out a little product in your palms and evenly apply in your hair starting from roots. Cover all the hair with the product.

It doesn’t mandate you to wash your hair after applying the product. It also works as a heat protector so you can straighten or blow dry your hair after applying CHI Silk Infusion without worrying about damaging your hair.

Pros

  • It gives luster to your hair.
  • Provides strength and shine to hair, fairly easy to use.

Cons

  • It has a strong fragrance, a few people might not prefer it. Nevertheless, I love its smell.

Product Review: L’Oréal True Match Foundation

10 Jan

Makeup and particularly foundations hold the ultimate interest of most of the girls. This review might help you get an idea, if the most hyped drug store foundation has the qualities you are looking for or not!

I started using the L’Oréal True Match Foundation good two years ago and found it great for everyday use.

Features

It comes in a fairly simple glass bottle with plastic cap, you can pump out the foundation easily. It is absolutely hassle-free and nothing too elaborate. The price of the product is £9.99 at Boots The bottle suggests it to be super blendable with SPF 17.

Consistency

Just as it claims  to be super blendable, the foundation really does work like wonders in terms of giving a smooth, even finish. It feels very light, spreads out completely, and feels like skin. It blends out to almost nothing, and appears to be super smooth and seamless on your skin.

Performance and Quality

In terms of the application, the thin consistency it offers is so flawless, it gives you the preferred results with right amount of coverage. It is tremendously easy is to apply. The color match it offers is really nice, and smooth. Being runny in texture makes it effortless to blend. It is thin in consistency which means no cakey look!

Coverage

It evens out pretty well in terms of coverage. However, it doesn’t hide out blemishes completely, so it’s not a super full-coverage foundation. But, it is still good to go for 6-7 hours without touch up.

If you desire to cover more of your face, you can apply a second layer of foundation. It doesn’t feel really cakey even if a bit greater amount is applied.

Pros

  • Being a drug store product it is cheaper, comparatively an economical product.
  • It gives an even, smooth faultless look.
  • Easy and fast to apply.

Cons

  • Being a thin foundation, it does not offer a greater coverage, you may have to apply double amount of true match for the same coverage which you can get from other foundations.

Here are the different shades available.

Review: Livon Silky Potion

10 May

Hello beauties! I have a good news for all of you who are sick and tired of their super frizzy hair like me. I have always envied ladies with smooth, shiny and straight hair. Thanks to the beauty industry, I can straighten my hair through irons and straighteners but what about the smooth and silky part? *think think* Well, this 50ml little bottle does wonder to my hair. It is a transparent detangling hair fluid manufactured by Paras Pharmaceuticals Limited, India and costs around US $ 8 (can be ordered online here).

I am a huge fan of after-shower hair softeners and have always used Mrs. Marino Hair Softener. I bought this product when I ran out of my favourite one. As usual, my desire to experiment urged me to get Livon and I am glad I bought it. The key ingredients include Vitamin E, Silicone Conditioners and Mineral Oil. You just have to take a few drops of it in your palm and spread evenly across all your wet hair after every shower. It is odourless and non-greasy. However, your hand will be a little sticky after application so just rinse it with water. It will make it easier for you to comb your hair and please always use a wide toothed comb for wet hair. Once your hair are dry, you’ll find them much soft and less frizzy. I am only unhappy with the quantity since I have waist-long hair and I run out of it soon. Otherwise, it’s perfect. I’ll give it 4.5 bright, shining stars out of 5 🙂

How do you tame your locks? I’d love to hear suggestions.

XOXO
