Skin Woes During Pregnancy? No More!

Pregnancy can be a very special time in your life. You start preparing for your new arrival- getting the nursery ready, researching baby names and registering for your baby shower. You are so excited and look forward to every new experience and change that pregnancy has to bring along, except for one: skin woes.

During pregnancy, our body is transforming which includes your skin as well. While pregnancy can leave some lucky ladies looking gorgeous, stunning with luscious locks and clear complexion, for others, all that extra hormonal activity can have the opposite effect. You may end up suffering from a variety of pregnancy skin issues.

Here are some of the effectual ways to take care of your skin during pregnancy.

1. Oily skin with breakouts

Women face hormonal breakouts during pregnancy as your skin becomes oily because of all the hormonal changes. You mostly experience nastiest breakouts during the first trimester of pregnancy. Imagine having a pimpled face along with morning sickness, yuck!

Remedy

Use such products which contain acne-fighting elements in order to treat hormonal breakouts. Using clarifying cleanser is one perfect idea as it reduces bacteria from skin and helps to fight acne for hours. Apply this 1-2 times a week to get purified and pores free skin. You can also use products which contain glycolic acid, alpha hydroxyl acid, or witch hazel. 2. Dry patches

During pregnancy your body gets dehydrated due to which your skin becomes dry and you might start having dry patches and crumbling skin. To fight this challenge, you have to step up your water game.

Remedy

It is suggested to wash your skin with a soap-less rinse-off cleanser, so find such products which contain elements such as conditioners and botanical oils like Sunflower Oils and Avocado oils, and humectants. Use of such products will soothe and moisturize your skin immediately. It will repair your skin’s dryness and will give you a smooth skin.

3. Discoloration

When you are pregnant, the most important thing to protect your skin from, is harmful UV rays. It is possible that your skin becomes hyper-pigmented, as you are progressing through each trimester.

Remedy

To protect your skin from discoloration, apply antioxidants sunscreen products which contain at least SPF 30 and Vitamin C. It is better to use higher SPF sunscreen, if you are going in the midday sun or at the beach.
